What is the IMAT cut-off score / base score?
Cut-off score is the reference data used to understand the lowest score level of candidates who have been accepted to a particular university or program in the past year. This score is not a guaranteed acceptance score for next year; It may vary depending on the quota, number of candidates, exam difficulty and preference behavior.
Why do cut-off scores change every year?

The number of candidates applying and the overall score distribution may move the base score up or down.

Why are non-EU cut-off scores important?
Non-EU quotas and Non-EU cut-off levels are particularly important for many students applying from Türkiye. EU and Non-EU candidate groups can be evaluated through separate quotas and different base score levels may occur at the same university.

Non-EU Cut-off
Applicants from Türkiye are evaluated according to the Non-EU ranking of the relevant year.
Minimum eligibility score is not a cut-off
According to MUR's 2026 rules, EU/equivalent candidates must have a minimum of 20 points must take it. This value is not a university placement score; It is just the eligibility threshold.
The 20 point threshold does not apply to Non-EU candidates residing outside Italy; so that the candidate can be evaluated within the relevant local/reserved rankings. higher than 0 must get points. Candidates who do not answer any questions are not included in the rankings.
2026 tie-break order: Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, followed by Reading Skills / Knowledge Acquired in Studies. The official language certificate and relevant legal priority criteria can then be applied.

How should cut-off scores be interpreted?
The cut-off score is the previous year's input data; It is not a guaranteed acceptance score for the following year.
A score above the previous cut-off does not guarantee placement. Quota and number of candidates may change.
Staying below the previous cut-off does not always make settlement impossible. Cut-offs can fluctuate from year to year.
University choice, quota group (EU/Non-EU), ranking movement and candidate behavior play a decisive role.
