The center finds: The selectiveness in the math was born not from the long-term volume, but from the protection of mathematical conditions such as the definition set, function range, parameter case and valid transformation.
Research methodology
The analysis covers the seven Mathematics questions from Q48 to Q54. Each question is coded by main topic, subtopic, format, primary skill, DOK, language and reading load, calculation load, reasoning load, distractor strength, estimated time and syllabus area.
All Mathematics questions underwent a second review. Coding Confidence is High for six questions and Medium for Q52; Q52 is also marked Controversy Flag = Yes.
General profile of the 2025 Mathematics section
The section presents two distinct levels of demand. Q48 and Q49 combine High difficulty with longer estimated times, while Q50–Q54 assess definition, factorisation, ratio modelling and parameter logic in shorter items.
| Component | Average | Comments |
|---|---|---|
| Calculation Load | 2.00 / 5 | There is a process; but selectiveness is not only born from the process length |
| Reasoning Load | 2.43 / 5 | Definition set, function range parameter case and valid conversion control |
| Distractor Strength | 3.00 / 5 | Reasonable wrong paths such as domain omission, function range, parameter condition and setup error |
| Language & Reading Load | 1.86 / 5 | Critical quantitative and condition statements in short texts |
Difficulty band distribution
Subject architecture and load density
Equations is the most commonly represented main issue with two questions. Five other topics are included in one question. The functions and Trigonometry have an average of 17.00, but this is the load of the single Q49 item and should not be written as universal difficulty of the topic.

DOK and depth of knowledge
Q48 and Q49 DOK 3; the definition set, range and condition management together. Q52, Q53 and Q54 DOK 2; Q50 and Q51 DOK 1.
| DOK | Question sayısı | Anlamı |
|---|---|---|
| DOK 1 | 2 | Direct definition or single-step image: Q50, Q51 |
| DOK 2 | 3 | Conceptual condition, ratio model or parameter logic: Q52-Q54 |
| DOK 3 | 2 | Definition set, range and multiple condition management: Q48, Q49 |
| DOK 4 | 0 | No |
Measured skills
Problem Solving is the primary skill in Q48, Q49 and Q52. Information Recall Q50 and Q51, at Conceptual Understanding Q53, Knowledge Application was coded as primary skill in Q54.
| Beceri | Question sayısı | Questionlar |
|---|---|---|
| Problem Solving | 3 | Q48, Q49, Q52 |
| Information Recall | 2 | Q50, Q51 |
| Conceptual Understanding | 1 | Q53 |
| Knowledge Application | 1 | Q54 |
Question formats and solution structure
The calculation format is seen in Q48, Q49 and Q51, but the same label carries the load ranging from 6/25 to 17/25. Therefore, the format tag does not disclose difficulty alone.
Primary format distribution
Language, processing, reasoning and time profile
Average estimated time is 56.43 seconds and the median is 40 seconds. Q49 is estimated at 100 seconds, Q48 at 90 seconds and Q52 at 70 seconds; most items from Q50 to Q54 are shorter.
Estimated-time bands
Calculation Load is 2.00/5, compared with Reasoning Load at 2.43/5 and Distractor Strength at 3.00/5. This profile shows that condition management and plausible but incorrect solution paths can be more decisive than raw arithmetic.
Distractor architecture
Seven different dominant distractor tag was used in question: domain omission, ignoring function range, set-operation mess, sign error, ratio/perimeter setup error, parameter-condition mess and zero-coefficient oversight.
These labels are not observed student-error frequency. As student option-selection data is not available, distractor analysis explains structural mathematical error ways.
Detailed review based on thread sets
Q48 and Q49 are two types of materials. The domain restriction on Q48 should be established before the calculation; Trigonometric function range and universal quantifier must be retained together in Q49.
Q53 and Q54 parameter linearally measure logic. The challenge arises not from short processing, but from seeing the role difference between x coefficient and fixed term.
Q52 rate and wants to convert content to pocket model. Q50 Cartesian product description, Q51 measure rapid recognition of its origin product/factorisation image.
Item-level analysis of seven problems
The following spots describe the analytical load of Q48-Q54 items without republishing the full question text.
Q49
Trigonometric inequality
The most demanding item of the department. Universal accuracy can not be tested with a single x value; trigonometric expression should be examined in a limited range and function range must be retained.
Q48
Radical inequality
The first step of domain restriction is set in the rooted inequalities. If the square receiving and end point control definition set are made without protection, algebraically plausible but invalid results can be produced.
Q52
Rectangle proportions and perimeter
The rate information should be placed in 5k and 4k edges. Although there is a mathematical solution routine, there is a unit-label inconsistency on the source post; this note is also explained on the page.
Q53
Linear equation with parameter
The only solution condition is based on x coefficient. This question does not change the number of solution to a fixed term because the coefficient is 3.
Q54
Zero-coefficient condition
An inconsistency occurs when the coefficient of x is zero while the right-hand side remains non-zero. For this reason, a+3=0 is a special condition.
Q50
Cartesian product
The standard definition question. The load is based on mixing Cartesian product with union, intersection or unordered pairs.
Q51
Notable products and factorisation
One-step full-square recognition question. The basic risk is to read the middle term sign or 2ab coefficient wrong.
Q52 transparency note
Q52 Source-Unit Inconsistency
Q52 marked Coding Confidence = Medium and Controversy Flag = Yes in the source workbook. The question stem gives the rectangle's perimeter in centimeters, while the correct option is numerically 20 and 16 values with metre label.
This dispute does not change the rate/perimeter solution; but it is a condition that it should be noted in terms of physical-unit deficiencies in the published source. The report does not silently correct this problem.
2025 How did Math Participate?
2025 Math shows a two-piece structure between two high load points and five shorter items. Q48-Q49 carries an important part of the total difficulty and time load.
This section should not be read only 'hesaplama'. The correct solution in the most difficult items depends on determining which conditions will be protected throughout the solution before processing.
Preparation interests
For candidates prepared after 2025, this profile shows the importance of zero-coefficient shackle in range control and questions parameter at trigonometric inequalities.
The valid solution value separation with Valid algebraic deficiencies should be studied; daily-life geometry questions should be translated into the proportion and the category of the communic. Direct Knowledge and recognition should be quick recallable.
These interests do not mean that the same subject or proportions will be released in the next test; it should be read as evidence-based preparation implication extracted from the 2025 data set.
Limitations and Quality Control
Analytical Difficulty is not the official IMAT metric. Estimated time values are not candidate times observed, but analyst estimates. Student response data, option-selection distribution and real distractor visibility are not available. One year and seven questions are not enough to set up the trend.
All math questions are second-pass checked. 6 questions High Coding Confidence carries Q52 Medium Coding Confidence. Q52 Controversy Flag = Yes preserved. Full question texts were not republished, only short paraphrase and analytical comments were used.
